FQ Series Multi-Media Systems
Physical treatment process is carried out by delivering raw water through multimedia material from top to bottom inside the filter and retaining sedimentation, cloudiness, suspended solid matter (SSM), sand, alluvium, silt, iron, manganese etc. in water thanks to the electrostatic properties of quartz and anthracite. Filtered water obtains a clear look free of sedimentation.
Filtration units are basic systems that shall be present in water treatment systems. Systems consist of 3 main equipment as control unit, filter housing and filter media.
Full automatic Fleck and Autotrol (digital) valves are used as control unit. The system carries out backwashing according to the set time on valve, without requiring human intervention. It removes sedimentation accumulated in the media bed by discharging it through the drainage line and than turns back to the service status later.
Fiberglass (FRP) Wavecyber and Structural tanks are generally used in filters. Tank selection is made considering the flow rate of water which will pass through the system and pollution load.
Automatic multi-layer sand filters (multi-media filters) consist of gravel in three different granule sizes, quartz sand and anthracite mineral as the top layer. The purpose in using different particle sizes is to create minimum space between layers and to ensure maximum level sedimentation retention capacity.
Most significant points to be considered while designing full automatic sedimentation filter are specified in the following- Water pollution (execution of pre-treatment if necessary)- Transmission speed (hourly flow rate / mineral tank cross-section area)- Bed increase height (required water flow rate and pressure at backwashing)- Hourly peak flow rate (for automation design)
